Obama V-day

The American Dream - Alive again
One could not help but feel one’s own eyes welling up with tears when hearing Obama’s speech and watching thousands of Americans including Rev Jesse Jackson, having tears in their eyes. Today is a day that is hard to put in words. It certainly felt like being given back not only hope but a feeling what democracy is about. This very democracy which was being misused and betrayed by the US government in the last years beyond recognition.
Obama’s victory speech was not merely that. He spoke as a human being to other human beings; not only expressing warmth, love and respect but transmitting it himself. His political skills will prove in the years to come. On a human level he certainly brings with the best credentials. However „bad“ the US has behaved in the past few years – by both Obama’s as well as McCain’s speech, showing dignity by acknowledging each other, Europe’s politicians at large should have certainly learned a lot from this amazing day in history.
